Case IH 2602 – Transmission Control Unit (TCU) or Universal Control Module (UCM) / Vehicle Control Module (VCM): Low power supply voltage 12VT1

The control module is detecting a voltage drop below the acceptable operating threshold on the specific 12-volt power supply circuit designated as "12VT1". The system flags this because the module cannot reliably operate its assigned solenoids or sensors without proper voltage.

   Locate the main fuse enclosure and inspect the fuse assigned to the 12VT1 power circuit.

   Verify that the main power level from the tractor battery/alternator is providing a steady 12 to 14 volts to the system.

   Check the PWR (power) control relay in the UCM/TCU enclosure to ensure it is successfully switching and operating.

   Check the main wiring harness between the tractor's power supply and the control module for chafed wires causing a short to ground, or broken wires causing an open circuit.

   Ensure the connectors at the ECU/TCU are fully seated, not damaged, and that the internal pins are tight and in the correct position.

   Power Down

   Turn off the machine and remove the key to ensure the electrical system is de-energized.

   Locate and Replace Fuse

   Access the fuse panel and locate the 12VT1 fuse. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new blade fuse of the exact same amperage rating.

   Test Operation

   Turn the key on. If the display battery voltage reads 12-14V and the fault code goes inactive, continue field operation and monitor for code recurrence.

   Relay Replacement

   If the fuse immediately blows again or the fuse was never blown to begin with, locate the 12VT1 power control relay. Swap it with a known good relay of the same type. If voltage is restored, replace the faulty relay.

   Harness Repair

   If the relay and fuse are both good, disconnect the harness at the control module. Use a multimeter to check for continuity on the 12VT1 circuit back to the fuse panel. Repair any damaged sections of the wiring harness.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect all harnesses securely. Use the Electronic Service Tool (EST) or the in-cab display to clear the inactive fault codes.

   Final Verification

   Run the machine under load to verify the fault code does not return.
