Case IH 2612 – ZTC Controller: Transmission enable relay (RED6 input) plausibility fault

The controller is detecting a mismatch between the commanded state of the transmission enable relay and the actual voltage feedback at connector C070, pin 67. A direct short circuit to ground on this circuit will blow the controller's fuse.

   Check the 7.5A ZTC Controller Main fuse (often F101 or F102) in the cab power distribution module.

   Disconnect connector C070 at the ZTC controller and inspect pin 67 for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or moisture.

   Test the Transmission Enable Relay in the power distribution center to see if it is stuck closed or failing to close when energized.

   Measure the resistance between the wiring harness at C070 pin 67 and the chassis ground to check for a short circuit.

   Disconnect Battery Power

   Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before servicing the power distribution modules or the ZTC controller to prevent further shorts.

   Replace the Fuse (If Blown)

   If the 7.5A ZTC fuse is blown, do not replace it until the short is found, or it will blow again upon key-on.

   Trace and Repair the Wiring Harness

   If a short to ground was found on the circuit for pin 67, trace the wire from the ZTC controller to the Transmission Enable Relay. Repair any chafed insulation rubbing against the tractor chassis.

   Replace the Transmission Enable Relay

   If the wiring is intact but the relay is internally shorted or mechanically stuck, pull the relay from the distribution board and replace it with a new OEM relay.

   Reassemble and Clear Codes

   Reconnect connector C070, restore battery power, and cycle the key. Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the inactive 2612 fault code and verify that the transmission engages properly.
