Case IH 2622 (6153.18) - DEC – DEC: Synchro 2/4 or 6/8 disengage error

Issue description

The transmission's synchronizer for gears 2/4 or 6/8 is failing to disengage properly. The control module is receiving a valid signal from the synchronizer position sensor, but the value is below the expected normal operating threshold.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E

Check the cause

  1. Check the transmission oil temperature and pressure sensors to ensure the fluid is at operating parameters.

  2. Run a transmission calibration procedure to see if the synchronizer can successfully relearn its engagement/disengagement positions.

  3. Check the wiring harness and connectors for the synchronizer position transducers and shift solenoids for shorts or open circuits.

Parts you might need

(4)
  • Transmission Synchronizer 2 Assembly

Synchro 2/4 or 6/8 hub and sleeve

  • Synchronizer Rings

  • Synchronizer Position Transducer / Sensor

  • Shift Fork / Actuator Solenoid
