Case IH 2637 (519184.12) - DEC – DEC: Valve S Blocked during Synchro M engagment

The valve core is unable to move due to physical obstruction (such as metal shavings, rust, or debris) or mechanical binding, preventing the synchronizer from engaging the gear.

   Check hydraulic fluid and filters by draining a sample and inspecting for metal filings or brass shavings. Check the bottom of the main filter assembly and the charge pump filter for debris.

   Inspect signal lines by disconnecting the signal port lines coming from the control valve to check for clogs or metal shavings that could be blocking fluid flow.

   Check for external obstructions or physical damage that might be preventing the valve's movement.

   Unload and Remove the Valve

   Remove the affected control valve (Valve S) from the transmission/hydraulic block.

   Clean and Flush

   Clean the valve to remove any welding slag, rust, or metal shavings in the throttle, guide part, and balance hole.

   Inspect Sealing Surfaces

   Check the valve core surface and guide surface for strain, scratches, or indentations. If the sealing surface is damaged, it must be ground or the valve replaced.

   Flush the Pipeline

   Open the bottom plug to wash away any slag falling into the lower valve cover and flush the connecting hydraulic pipelines before reinstallation.

   Reinstall and Test

   Reinstall the valve. Before putting it into full operation, let the regulating valve be fully opened and allow the medium to flow for a period of time to ensure smooth operation.
