Case IH 2642 (6157.14) - DEC – DEC (Drivetrain Electronic Control): Unwanted engaged or disengaged of Synchro 6

Issue description

Output of 'Vehicle speed signal' (pin X7 9/8) has Short circuit to ground, or a mechanical/hydraulic anomaly where Synchronizer 6 is engaging or disengaging without a command from the controller.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness for the transmission speed sensors and synchronizer position sensors.

  2. Check Pin X7 9/8 on the transmission controller (DEC) for a short circuit to ground.

  3. Verify the physical linkage and hydraulic solenoid valves controlling Synchro 6 for debris or sticking that would cause unwanted engagement.
