Case IH 2660-13 - ACM – ACM: Joystick 1 X-Axis Position - Input Not Calibrated
Issue description
The controller detects that the X-axis sensor values do not match the expected calibrated parameters (or if the redundant internal inputs disagree), logging this fault and disabling the affected hydraulic/transmission functions for safety.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Case IH Magnum (e.g., Magnum 235-340 Series 4)
- Case IH Steiger
Check the cause
Check for active voltage codes (SPN 2660 FMI 3 or 4) which indicate a hard wiring issue (short or open circuit) that must be fixed before calibration is possible
Inspect the wiring harness connector at the base of the joystick to verify it is fully seated and free of corrosion
Check the ACM configuration in the tractor's display to ensure it is correctly configured, as incorrect settings can falsely flag position errors
Physically inspect the joystick to ensure the X-axis (left/right movement) is not obstructed, sticking, or mechanically misaligned
Repair steps
Park the machine safely. Turn the engine off, but turn the key switch to the ON position to power the cab modules.
Prepare the machine for calibration.
Access the calibration menu through the tractor's standard instrumentation or AFS display (navigate to the Armrest/Joystick calibration screen).
Navigate to the calibration screen.
When prompted by the display to calibrate the X-axis, move the joystick full stroke in one direction (e.g., far left) and hold it against the stop for 5 seconds.
Calibrate the first direction of the X-axis.
Return the joystick to the neutral (center) position and pause for 5 seconds.
Calibrate the neutral position.
Move the joystick full stroke in the opposite direction (e.g., far right), hold for 5 seconds, and return to neutral.
Calibrate the opposite direction of the X-axis.
Save the calibration. The system should indicate a successful calibration.
Save the new calibration parameters.
Cycle the key power. If the 2660-13 code clears and joystick function returns, the repair is complete. If the code immediately returns or fails to calibrate, the internal Hall Effect sensors in the joystick base have failed, and the joystick assembly must be replaced.
Verify the repair or replace the joystick assembly if calibration fails.
