Case IH 2660 (741.11) - DEC – DEC: DEC: Clutch FWD Solenoid - Generic error
Issue description
The DEC module has detected an operational or electrical fault with the Forward Clutch Solenoid. This typically means the module is seeing an out-of-range value, such as an open circuit, a short to ground, a short to power, or an incorrect amperage draw when trying to activate the forward gears.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading from the DEC module to the transmission valve block for chafed wires, melted insulation, or pinched lines (check circuit 4014 if applicable).
Disconnect the harness at the Forward Clutch Solenoid and inspect connectors for water intrusion, corrosion, or pushed-back pins.
Test solenoid resistance using a multimeter across the solenoid pins. An infinite reading indicates an internal open circuit, while a reading of 0 indicates a dead short.
Verify that the DEC is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid when forward direction is commanded, and check if the amp draw is within specification.
Repair steps
Park the tractor on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine.
Locate the transmission control valve block.
Typically mounted on the side of the transmission housing.
Clean the area around the Forward Clutch Solenoid.
This prevents dirt from entering the hydraulic system.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the Forward Clutch Solenoid.
Remove the retaining bolt or snap-ring holding the solenoid in the valve block.
Pull the faulty solenoid out of the bore.
Have a catch pan ready, as a small amount of hydraulic fluid will leak out.
Lubricate the O-rings on the new Forward Clutch Solenoid.
Use clean Case IH Akcela transmission fluid.
Insert the new solenoid into the bore and secure it with the retaining bolt/clip.
Reconnect the electrical harness.
Clear the fault codes from the DEC module.
Use the AFS Pro display or a diagnostic tool.
Start the tractor, check for leaks, and perform a transmission calibration if required by the DEC module.
