Case IH 2661-13 - ACM – ACM: Joystick y-axis sensor disagreement.
Issue description
The joystick utilizes Hall-effect technology to translate operator commands (forward/backward movement on the Y-axis) into electronic signals. A "disagreement" fault indicates that the dual redundant sensors for the Y-axis are sending conflicting voltage signals to the controller, meaning their outputs no longer match the expected correlation.
Applies to these machines
3 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Steiger
- Puma
Check the cause
Check ACM Configuration: Verify that the ACM is configured correctly for the specific joystick installed, as incorrect configuration can trigger false Y-axis voltage faults.
Inspect Wiring and Connections: Inspect the multi-pin CAN-bus connector at the base of the joystick and the wiring harness leading to the Armrest Control Module for backed-out pins, corrosion, or chafed wires.
Check Reference Voltage: Verify that the joystick is receiving a steady 5-volt reference and a solid ground from the ACM.
Attempt Calibration: Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or the in-cab AFS Pro 1200 display to perform a joystick calibration to re-learn the X and Y axis limits.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent CAN bus communication errors or short circuits during disassembly.
Access the Armrest
Remove the plastic trim covers and retaining screws on the armrest control panel to expose the joystick mounting hardware.
Disconnect the Joystick
Unplug the OEM multi-pin electronic connector from the bottom of the joystick assembly.
Remove the Assembly
Unbolt the joystick assembly from the armrest integrated control module.
Install the New Part
Mount the replacement joystick, secure the bolts, and reconnect the multi-pin connector.
Reassemble and Calibrate
Reinstall the armrest trim panels. Reconnect the battery, power on the machine, and use the EST or the AFS Pro 1200 display to perform a mandatory joystick calibration so the ACM learns the new Y-axis sensor values.
