Case IH 2664-00 - ACM – ACM: Joystick rocker switch internal failure

The fault code indicates that the Joystick 1 Theta-Axis Position data is valid but above the normal operational range, pointing to an internal failure or out-of-range signal from the proportional rocker switch on the joystick.

   Verify the ground connection between the joystick and the chassis/ACM.

   Inspect the wiring harness between the joystick and the ACM for shorts to power.

   Create a CAN-Trace using a diagnostic tool to monitor the joystick's output and look for anomalies, such as timeouts or erratic voltage spikes from the Theta-Axis (rocker switch).

   Verify that the ACM is configured correctly for the specific joystick installed.

   Power down and disconnect battery

   Power down the machine and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Disassemble armrest console

   Disassemble the armrest console to access the ACM and the base of the multi-function joystick.

   Disconnect joystick connector

   Disconnect the main electrical connector to the joystick.

   Check harness continuity and voltage

   Perform a continuity and voltage check on the harness leading back to the ACM to rule out a short-to-power in the wiring.

   Confirm internal failure

   If the wiring tests good and the CAN trace confirms the joystick is outputting an out-of-range signal internally, the internal rocker switch has failed.

   Exchange joystick assembly

   Because the internal proportional rocker switch is rarely serviceable on its own, the standard repair procedure is to exchange the joystick assembly.

   Install new joystick and reassemble

   Install the new joystick, reconnect the harness, and reassemble the armrest.

   Power on, clear codes, and calibrate

   Power on the machine and clear the ACM fault codes. Calibrate the new joystick if required by the ACM.
