2664-01 - ACM

Case IH 2664-01 - ACM – ACM: Internal failure of the joystick rocker switch

Issue description

The code indicates an internal failure of the joystick rocker switch. It is triggered when the switch registers a voltage that is either too low or too high, indicating an internal short, an open circuit, or a defective switch mechanism.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Case IH Magnum tractors (e.g., 235–340 Series 4)
  • Case IH Steiger tractors (350 to 600 horsepower)

Check the cause

  1. Verify ACM configuration to ensure the error is not due to an incorrect software setup rather than a hardware failure

  2. Check the reference voltage to the armrest controller to ensure it is not shorted to 0V or 12V

  3. Determine if the code is 'Pending' (intermittent wiring noise/sensor variability) or 'Permanent' (verified hardware malfunction)

Repair steps

  1. Connect a diagnostic tool to the machine's ISOBUS diagnostic port to read active and pending CAN data codes.

Read active and pending CAN data codes.

  2. Access the ACM software settings to verify that the module configuration matches the physical hardware installed on the armrest.

Verify module configuration matches physical hardware.

  3. Inspect the armrest wiring harness and connectors for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins.

Check for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins.

  4. Test the voltage at the joystick rocker switch pins. If the harness voltage is correct but the switch is internally failed, the joystick assembly or the specific rocker switch must be replaced.

Test voltage at switch pins and replace joystick assembly or rocker switch if internally failed.

  5. After replacement, use the diagnostic tool to clear the fault codes and perform a cycle test to confirm the repair is successful.

Clear fault codes and perform a cycle test.
