Case IH 2664-06 - ACM – ACM: Joystick rocker switch voltage low

The system has detected that the voltage signal coming from the proportional rocker switch on the Multi-Function Handle (MFH / Joystick) has dropped below the acceptable lower limit. This typically indicates an open circuit, a short to ground in the switch's signal wire, a loss of reference voltage to the switch, or an internal failure of the joystick's potentiometer/switch mechanism.

   System Voltage Check: Verify the tractor's battery voltage using the display. If system voltage drops below 11.0V, it can trigger erroneous low-voltage sensor faults. Ensure the alternator is charging properly (12V - 14V).

   ACM Configuration Check: Verify that the Armrest Control Module is correctly configured for the specific joystick installed. Incorrect ACM configuration can sometimes trigger false joystick voltage faults.

   Wiring and Connector Inspection: Disconnect the Multi-Function Handle (MFH) harness. Inspect the pins for corrosion, pushed-back pins, or moisture.

   Circuit Testing: Check the wiring harness between the joystick and the ACM for a short to ground or an open circuit. Verify that the ACM is supplying the correct 5V or 8V reference voltage to the joystick.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and turn off the battery disconnect switch to prevent electrical spikes.

   Isolate the Fault

   If the wiring harness tests good (continuity is present, no shorts to ground, and reference voltage is reaching the joystick connector), the fault is internal to the joystick's proportional rocker switch.

   Remove the Joystick

   Remove the trim panels on the Multicontroller armrest to access the mounting hardware for the Multi-Function Handle (MFH). Disconnect the main electrical connector at the base of the joystick.

   Replace the Component

   The rocker switches are generally not serviced individually by the OEM; the repair requires replacing the Multi-Function Handle assembly. Install the new joystick and secure the mounting hardware.

   Reassemble and Power Up

   Reconnect the wiring harness, reassemble the armrest trim, and turn the battery disconnect and ignition key back ON.

   Calibration

   Clear the inactive 2664-06 fault code. You must perform a joystick calibration procedure using the AFS Pro 1200 display or the Case IH Electronic Service Tool so the ACM learns the new lever's neutral and maximum travel positions.
