Case IH 2664-14 - ACM – ACM: Joystick keypad configuration
Issue description
The system has detected that the joystick keypad was disconnected while powered on. This indicates a sudden loss of communication or physical disconnection between the joystick and the armrest network while the tractor's key was in the ON position.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- MAGNUM AFS Connect
- Magnum AFS Connect Series (Models 180, 200, 220, 240, 250, 280, 310, 340, 380, 400)
- Optum AFS Connect Series (e.g., Optum 270 CVX)
- Steiger AFS Connect models
Check the cause
Check for Operator Error: Determine if the armrest was recently disassembled or if the joystick was intentionally unplugged while the tractor key was turned ON. If so, the code is operating as designed.
Key Cycle: Turn the tractor completely off, wait for the modules to power down, and turn the key back on. If it was a temporary disconnect, the code should change from Active to Inactive.
Harness Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at the base of the Multi-Function Handle (joystick) and where it routes to the ACM. Look for loose connections, backed-out pins, or pinched wires inside the armrest console.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes during repair.
Access the Armrest
Carefully remove the trim panels on the AFS Connect armrest to access the base of the joystick and the ACM wiring harness.
Re-seat Connectors
Disconnect the joystick keypad connector, inspect the pins for corrosion or damage, and firmly reconnect it to ensure it is fully seated and locked.
Repair Wiring (If Applicable)
If any wires are chafed or pinched within the armrest pivot points, repair the wiring harness per OEM electrical standards.
Test and Clear
Reconnect the battery and turn the key ON. Check the AFS Pro 1200 display to see if code 2664-14 has moved to an inactive state. Clear the inactive codes.
Replace Component
If the wiring is perfectly intact, the connector is secure, and the code remains active, the internal circuitry of the joystick keypad has likely failed and the Multi-Function Handle must be replaced.
