2665-02 - ACM

Case IH 2665-02 - ACM – ACM: Joystick x-axis lever right positive position status circuit fault

Issue description

This code indicates an electrical circuit failure associated with the multi-function joystick's X-axis (side-to-side movement), specifically when the lever is pushed to the right (the "positive" position). The controller is receiving an invalid signal (such as an open circuit, short circuit, or out-of-range voltage) from the joystick's internal position sensor for that specific directional travel.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect
  • Case IH Magnum AFS Connect
  • Magnum 200
  • Magnum 250
  • Magnum 280
  • Magnum 310
  • Magnum 340
  • Magnum 380
  • Magnum 400

Check the cause

  1. Check for other ACM codes (such as 2660-xx or 2664-xx) to rule out a shared ground or 5V/8V reference voltage issue rather than a single axis failure.

  2. Remove the armrest trim to access the joystick wiring and inspect the connectors at the base of the joystick and the ACM for backed-out pins, corrosion, or wire chafing.

  3. Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) or AFS Pro 1200 display to monitor the live input voltage of the joystick X-axis. Slowly push the joystick to the right; voltage should scale smoothly. Drops to 0V, spikes to system voltage, or erratic readings indicate a failing internal sensor.

  4. Attempt to run the joystick calibration procedure through the display. If the ACM cannot read the maximum rightward travel, calibration will fail, confirming a hard fault in the sensor or wiring.

Repair steps

  1. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

  2. Carefully pry up and remove the plastic trim panels surrounding the multi-function handle on the armrest.

  3. Disconnect the main electrical harness connector at the base of the joystick.

  4. Remove the mounting screws/bolts securing the joystick assembly to the armrest console.

  5. Remove the faulty joystick and install the new replacement unit.

  6. Secure the mounting hardware and reconnect the electrical harness.

  7. Reinstall the armrest trim panels and reconnect the battery.

  8. Turn the key on and use the AFS display or EST laptop to perform the mandatory Joystick Calibration procedure so the ACM can learn the new sensor's center, maximum left, and maximum right (X-axis) voltage values.

  9. Clear the 2665-02 fault code from the ACM and test the tractor's hydraulic/transmission functions to verify the repair.
