Case IH 2675 (519186.11) - DEC – Transmission Control Module (TCM) or Chassis Control Module (CCM): Synchro N Solenoid - Generic Error

Issue description

Indicates a fault in the circuit of one of the transmission's synchronizer solenoids. The control module detects an abnormal condition that does not strictly fit a standard open/short circuit definition, or the root cause cannot be specifically identified by the sensor alone.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E
  • Puma series
  • Puma 165

Check the cause

  1. Use an Electronic Service Tool to access the 'PWM Valve Test' (Channel 8) and manually test the synchronizer PWM valves.

  2. Check the affected synchronizer solenoid wiring harness for an open circuit or a short to ground.

Repair steps

  1. Identify solenoid

Identify the specific 'Synchro N' solenoid (e.g., Synchro 4, Forward, or Reverse) indicated by the Electronic Service Tool.

  2. Disconnect harness

Disconnect the electrical harness at the transmission solenoid valve block.

  3. Test resistance

Test the resistance of the solenoid coil to verify it is within OEM specifications.

  4. Inspect wiring

Inspect the wiring harness between the TCM/CCM and the transmission for chafing, corrosion, or broken pins.

  5. Replace solenoid

If the wiring is intact but the solenoid fails the PWM test or resistance check, drain the transmission fluid (if required for access) and replace the faulty synchronizer solenoid.

  6. Recalibrate transmission

Recalibrate the transmission/dampers using the Electronic Service Tool after replacement.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Transmission Synchronizer PWM Solenoid / Synchro Solenoid Valve

Exact part numbers vary heavily by tractor model and transmission option. Cross-reference the specific synchronizer with the tractor's serial number.
