Case IH 2682 (519285.10) - DEC – DEC (Driveline Electronic Controller): SMP Intervention - MMP doesn't send INIT

Internal communication or initialization failure within the control module. The Sub Microprocessor (SMP) has intervened or triggered a reset because the Main Microprocessor (MMP) failed to send the required initialization (INIT) signal or message upon startup or during operation.

   Check the DEC for external electrical damage or power supply issues (such as a faulty power relay)

   Verify the wiring harness and connectors to the Driveline Electronic Controller for corrosion, loose pins, or voltage drops that could cause the Main Microprocessor to fail to boot or initialize

   Check if the fault is active or stored, and attempt to clear it using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to see if the initialization failure returns upon a key cycle

   Connect diagnostic software

   Connecting the Case IH EST diagnostic software to verify the fault and ensure the controller has the latest software flash.

   Replace DEC module

   If software updates or hard resets do not resolve the internal initialization error, the DEC module itself has suffered an internal hardware failure and must be replaced.
