Case IH 2720 (518375.06) - DEC – DEC: Dump solenoid - LSD short to HSD

The fault code indicates an electrical short circuit in the dump solenoid's wiring, where the ground/return wire (LSD) is shorting directly to the power feed wire (HSD).

   Inspect the wiring harness between the DEC and the dump solenoid for any visible rubbing, melting, or chafing that could cause the HSD (power) and LSD (return) wires to touch.

   Disconnect the dump solenoid and check for an internal short circuit within the solenoid coil itself.

   With the solenoid disconnected, use a multimeter to check for continuity between the HSD and LSD pins on the harness side to isolate whether the short is in the wiring or the component.

   Replace dump solenoid

   Replace the shorted dump solenoid if an internal short circuit is found within the solenoid coil.

   Repair wiring harness

   Repair the damaged section of the wiring harness where the HSD and LSD wires have shorted together.
