Case IH 2755 (518749.10) - DEC – DEC: CAN 1 - PB_EPL1_50 Absent on CAN1

Communication failure on the Controller Area Network (CAN 1) indicating the message identifier 'PB_EPL1_50' is absent or timing out between a Master ECU and a Slave ECU.

   Visually inspect the relevant CAN 1 harnesses and connectors for damage, bent pins, or dislocated pins.

   Check for power supply or ground shorts in the diagnostic circuits and the CAN High/CAN Low lines.

   Verify if there are other active CAN timeout errors between the Master and Slave ECUs, which would indicate a broader network failure rather than a single module failure.

   Prepare vehicle

   Turn the vehicle to the 'Key On, Engine Off' state.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Re-initialize ECU

   Using the EST service tool, re-initialize the ECU and load the appropriate data-set for the machine. A call to CNH Technical Support (TSS) may be required to get an authorization code for the ECU initialization download.

   Verify repair

   Check to see if the fault code has cleared.

   Replace ECU

   If the fault code does not clear after harness repair and ECU re-initialization, replace the faulty ECU.
