Case IH 2802-12 - IMM – Implement Management Module (IMM): Internal module fault / EEPROM read/write error

The control module is experiencing a hardware or software failure when attempting to store or read data blocks in its internal memory media (EEPROM), which frequently occurs during the afterrun (shutdown) sequence.

   Verify that there are no external electrical disturbances, voltage spikes, or poor ground connections causing SPI bus communication errors to the module.

   Analyze the system with a diagnostic tool to see if any other codes triggered a module recovery state.

   Save any snapshot or configuration information currently stored on the module before attempting any software flashes.

   Connect Diagnostic Tool

   Hook up the Case IH electronic service tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear the fault code and cycle the key to see if the EEPROM error is a hard fault or an intermittent glitch.

   Reprogram the Module

   If the code returns, attempt to re-flash/reprogram the IMM/ECU with the latest software version.

   Replace the Module

   If the EEPROM read/write error remains present after a successful reprogramming attempt, the internal memory hardware is permanently defective. You must replace the control module.
