Case IH 2858-02 - IMM – IMM: Invalid machine configuration

Issue description

A CAN Bus message from a control unit is either missing or invalid, indicating a communication failure where the machine's network cannot verify the hardware or software configuration of a specific module.

Applies to these machines

  • MAGNUM AFS Connect

Check the cause

  1. Check for missing CAN Bus messages from the control unit (e.g., Armrest Control Unit or Cornerpost Control Unit)

  2. Verify the wiring harness and CAN Bus connections to the IMM or ACML module to ensure messages are being transmitted and received correctly

  3. Check for any recent software updates or module replacements that may require a configuration relearn or calibration

Repair steps

  1. Turn the Key Switch to the OFF position, wait for 30 seconds, and restart

This checks if the controller can exit its boot block program.

  2. Replace the control unit

Perform this step if the EEPROM fails the test on power-up or the condition persists.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • Implement Message Monitor (IMM) Module

  • Steering Valve Control Unit (ACML)

  • CAN Bus Wiring Harness
