Issue description
The controller has detected a voltage on the PTO rear clutch solenoid circuit that is higher than the expected normal operating range. This condition typically points to a short circuit to power (B+) in the wiring harness, a faulty PTO engagement switch, or an internal failure within the solenoid coil itself causing improper voltage feedback.

Check the cause
Inspect the PTO fuse (often located near the hydraulic levers) for any signs of failure.
Check the wiring harness leading to the PTO control solenoid for broken wires, chafing, or a short to power (B+).
Measure the resistance of the PTO control solenoid valve using a multimeter to determine if the coil is faulty or stuck open, and verify proper power and ground.
Inspect the PTO engagement switch and any remote switches for faults.
Ensure the PTO speed sensors and their wiring are intact (on dual PTO tractors, mismatched speeds will disengage the PTO).
Check for low transmission oil levels, a blocked hydraulic oil filter, or oil leakage through the manifold seals causing secondary pressure drops.
Repair steps
Safety First
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent accidental starting and electrical shorts during the repair.
Locate the Solenoid
Locate the PTO control solenoid valve. Depending on the model, it is typically positioned on the rear transmission housing, the independent PTO control manifold, or behind the rear remotes (often the horizontal solenoid on the far right side).
Disconnect Wiring
Carefully disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the PTO solenoid.
Remove Hardware
Remove the retaining hardware (such as hex socket screws, e.g., M6 x 10mm) securing the solenoid block or cover.
Remove the Solenoid
Pull out the faulty PTO clutch solenoid valve cylinder.
Replace O-Rings
Remove the old O-rings and install new ones (e.g., 0.103" thickness O-rings) to ensure a proper hydraulic seal and prevent pressure drops.
Install New Part
Insert the new OEM PTO solenoid valve and tighten the mounting hardware to the correct torque specifications outlined in the service manual.
Reassembly
Reconnect the electrical wiring harness to the new solenoid.
Final Testing
Reconnect the battery, clear the fault codes from the system, and test the PTO engagement under load to ensure smooth operation.
