Case IH 2911 – Transmission Controller (Trans) / Universal Control Module (UCM): 12VT1 voltage supply is low. (possible blown fuse*)
Issue description
The control module is detecting a voltage level on the 12VT1 power input rail that is below the normal operational limit. The 12VT1 circuit provides dedicated 12-volt power to specific transmission or two-speed functions.

Check the cause
Verify that the main tractor battery voltage is healthy (system flags low voltage faults if overall voltage drops below 9.8V)
Locate the transmission/UCM fuse block and test the fuse assigned to the 12VT1 power rail for continuity
Check the power control relay (PWR relay) that feeds the transmission/UCM enclosure to ensure it is operating and switching power correctly
Inspect the wiring harness between the fuse panel and the Transmission ECU for chafing, pinched wires, or shorts to ground
Inspect the connectors at the Transmission ECU for corrosion, moisture, or backed-out pins that could cause high resistance
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.
Locate and Replace Fuse
Access the tractor's main fuse panel. Using the fuse panel decal, locate the fuse for the 12VT1 transmission power supply. If it is blown, replace it with a new fuse of the exact same amperage rating.
Test the Relay
If the fuse is intact, locate the transmission power relay. Swap it with a known good relay of the same type (e.g., the horn or work light relay) to rule out internal relay contact failure.
Trace for Shorts
If the new fuse blows immediately upon key-on, there is a short to ground in the 12VT1 circuit. Use a digital multimeter to trace the wire from the fuse block to the Transmission ECU. Locate the chafed wire and repair it using solder and heat shrink.
Clean Connections
Disconnect the harness at the Transmission ECU. Spray the pins and receptacles with electrical contact cleaner. Allow them to dry, apply a small amount of dielectric grease, and securely reconnect them.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the ON position, and use the tractor's display monitor or an Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the fault codes. Verify that code 2911 does not return.
