Case IH 2912 – Transmission Controller (Trans): 12VF2 voltage supply is low. (possible blown fuse*)

The control module is detecting that the voltage at the power input rail designated as "12VF2" is below normal operating parameters. This indicates a loss of power to this specific circuit, which is most commonly caused by a blown fuse, a failed power relay, or an open circuit in the wiring harness.

   Verify that the main power voltage level from the tractor battery and alternator is not below normal

   Locate the UCM/Transmission enclosure and check the specific fuse assigned to the 12VF2 power rail

   Check the power (PWR) control relay in the UCM enclosure to determine if it has failed to operate or is sticking

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the transmission controller for open circuits, chafing, or shorts to ground

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and locate the transmission/UCM fuse and relay distribution box (refer to the operator's manual for the exact location on your specific model).

   Inspect the 12VF2 Fuse

   Using the fuse panel diagram, identify the fuse for the 12VF2 circuit. Remove it and test it with a multimeter for continuity.

   Replace Fuse (If Applicable)

   If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new fuse of the exact same amperage. Note: Do not install a higher amperage fuse, as this can damage the UCM.

   Test the Power Relay

   If the fuse is intact, locate the UCM power control relay. Swap it with a known-good relay of the same type (e.g., a work light relay) to see if power is restored to the 12VF2 rail. If it is, replace the faulty relay.

   Check Wiring Continuity

   If both the fuse and relay are good, use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the 12VF2 input pin directly on the transmission controller harness. If voltage is low or absent, trace the wire back to the distribution box to find the break or corrosion.

   Repair Wiring

   Repair any damaged wires or clean corroded connector pins.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect all components, turn the ignition on, and use the electronic service tool or in-cab display to clear the fault codes. Verify that code 2912 does not return when the transmission is engaged.
