Case IH 299023-12 - SVC – Danfoss PVED-CLS Controller: Coils Supply Switch

The controller has detected a "Severe Internal failure" during its power-on self-test. The internal switch that supplies power to the steering valve coils has failed its diagnostic check, meaning the internal circuitry of the controller is compromised.

   Verify DC power supply connections directly at the battery to ensure the controller receives clean, stable 12V or 24V power (voltage spikes or drops can cause self-test anomalies)

   Inspect the 12-pin Deutsch DT04-12PA-B016 connector at the PVED-CLS steering valve for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins

   Check the CAN Bus to ensure a solid connection between the steering node and the valve

   Clear the Fault

   Use the diagnostic service tool (Danfoss PLUS+1 Service Tool, Case IH AFS Pro display, or Raven Viper/CR7 console) to clear the active fault codes.

   Cycle Power

   Turn the machine's key power off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on to force the PVED-CLS to perform a new power-on self-test.

   Observe the LED Indicator

   The PVED-CLS is equipped with a diagnostic LED. If it flashes red (1.5 Hz) or stays solid red, it confirms an internal error or safe-state lockout.

   Replace the Controller

   If the 299023-12 fault returns immediately after a power cycle and harness verification, the PVED-CLS controller/actuator has suffered an unrecoverable internal hardware failure and must be replaced.

   Recalibrate

   After replacing the PVED-CLS steering valve, you must perform a straight heading calibration and a steering valve (spool/WAS) auto-calibration using the service tool or display console before the machine can be returned to service.
