Case IH 30.00 - ACML – ACML: Open to EEPROM failed during startup

Internal hardware or memory failure within the control module. The microprocessor attempted to read its stored parameters but failed to establish communication with the EEPROM chip during startup, leading to a loss of calibration or a complete module shutdown.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify that the fault is currently active.

   Check for associated communication errors, such as fault code 2818 (Loss of communication with the Armrest Control Module).

   Inspect the power supply by checking the battery voltage, main relays, and the power/ground wiring harness leading to the armrest for a severe voltage drop during startup.

   Attempt a parameter reset using the EST to re-flash the module or reload the factory parameters, as corrupted software can sometimes cause an EEPROM CRC ERROR.

   Disconnect power

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical spikes.

   Access the module

   Disassemble the armrest console to access the Armrest Control Module.

   Inspect wiring and connectors

   Disconnect the wiring harnesses. The primary ECU for the ACM utilizes 17 connector assignments. Inspect the pins for any signs of corrosion or pushed-out terminals.

   Replace the module

   Remove the faulty ACML and install the replacement module.

   Reconnect power

   Reconnect the harnesses and the battery.

   Program the new module

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST). You must program the new module with the tractor's specific configuration data.

   Perform calibrations

   Perform all necessary armrest calibrations (e.g., calibrating the EHR levers, the Multi-Function Handle encoder, and the hitch position potentiometers).
