Case IH 3005 – ECU A-095: Air filter clog or circuit failure

This code indicates that the system has detected a restriction in the engine air intake system (a clogged air filter) or there is an electrical failure within the air filter restriction switch circuit.

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if the fault is currently present and active (if inactive, the issue may be intermittent)

   Visually inspect the wiring harnesses and connectors around the air filter clogging switch (S-022) for damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires

   Verify that all connectors are fully seated and perform a flex test on the involved harnesses while monitoring the EST to reveal any intermittent electrical shorts or breaks

   Check ECU A-095 to ensure it is running the most up-to-date software, as outdated software can erroneously trigger this code

   Inspect the Air Filter

   Open the air cleaner housing and inspect the primary engine air filter. If it is heavily soiled, clogged with dust/chaff, or damaged, remove and discard it.

   Inspect the Safety Filter

   If the primary filter is clogged, inspect the secondary (inner) safety filter. Replace it if there is any sign of dirt bypass.

   Test the Switch (S-022)

   If the air filters are clean, locate the air filter clogging switch (S-022) on the air intake housing. Test the switch for internal faults. If the switch is stuck open or closed regardless of vacuum pressure, it must be replaced.

   Repair Wiring

   If the switch tests fine but the circuit fails, repair any damaged wiring between switch S-022 and the ECU.

   Re-flash ECU

   If the physical filter is clean, the switch is functioning, and the wiring is intact, use the EST to re-flash ECU A-095 with the appropriate software.

   Clear and Test

   Clear the fault code, run the engine at high idle, and verify the fault does not return. Return the machine to service.
