Case IH 3014 – Engine ECU (Electronic Control Unit) A-095: Air filter clog or circuit failure present for a long time

This code triggers when the system detects that the engine air filter is severely restricted, or if there is a prolonged electrical fault in the circuit that monitors the air filter clogging switch.

   Verify if the fault is currently active and check if any other error codes are displayed.

   Check the power supply to ensure the machine has not been connected to an external power supply (like a jump starter or external charger). If connected, disconnect it and test for normal operation.

   Visually inspect the engine air filter and the entire air intake system for a physically clogged or obstructed condition, such as heavy dust buildup, debris, or collapsed intake hoses.

   Clear the Intake

   If the visual inspection reveals an obstruction in the air intake piping, clear the debris.

   Replace the Filters

   If the primary or secondary engine air filters are clogged with dirt or dust, remove and replace them with new OEM filters. Do not attempt to blow out and reuse heavily clogged paper filters, as this can damage the media and dust the engine.

   Inspect the Circuit

   If the air filter and intake system are not clogged or obstructed, the fault lies in the electrical circuit.

   Test the Sensor/Switch

   Locate the air filter clogging switch (restriction indicator sensor) on the air intake housing. Inspect the wiring harness for chafing, broken wires, or corrosion at the connector. Test the switch for continuity; if the switch has failed internally and is sending a false restriction signal to ECU A-095, replace the switch.
