Case IH 3016 (DTC 2D15) - ECU – ECU A-095: Fuel temperature sensor voltage is lower than expected.

The control module has detected a value of less than 188 mV in the signal circuit for the fuel temperature sensor (Component B-017). This typically indicates a short to a low source (ground) in the signal circuit, or an internal failure within the sensor itself.

   Visually inspect the relevant harnesses and connectors for damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires.

   Verify that the sensor connectors are fully seated and installed.

   Flex the harnesses involved to reveal any intermittent breaks or shorts to ground in the wiring concerned while monitoring the diagnostic display.

   Verify that ECU A-095 has the most up-to-date software.

   Repair wiring

   If the visual inspection or flex test reveals a shorted conductor or damaged wiring in the B-017 signal circuit, use the electrical schematic to locate and repair the short.

   Replace sensor

   If the wiring harness and connectors test good (no continuity to ground where there shouldn't be), the fuel temperature sensor (B-017) has likely suffered an internal failure and must be replaced.

   Re-flash ECU

   If the fault has not been resolved after repairing the harness and/or replacing the sensor, check the ECU A-095 for the appropriate software and re-flash the module if necessary.

   Verify repair

   Clear the fault codes, operate the machine, and monitor the display to ensure the fault has been resolved before returning the machine to service.
