Case IH 3024 – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Atmospheric Pressure Sensor Inside ECU Out Of Range - Signal Above Range Max.

The atmospheric (barometric) pressure sensor is reporting a signal voltage that exceeds the maximum allowable threshold, typically pointing to an internal hardware failure or an internal short-circuit on the ECU's circuit board.

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if the code is Active or Stored. Clear the code, cycle the key switch, and see if it immediately returns.

   Verify battery voltage and alternator output. Overvoltage conditions or a failing alternator voltage regulator can sometimes cause internal ECU sensors to read out of bounds.

   Disconnect the ECU and inspect the harness connectors for water intrusion, corrosion, or bent pins. Moisture inside the ECU connector can cause short circuits that mimic internal board failures.

   Power Down

   Turn the key switch to the OFF position and disconnect the machine's negative battery cable.

   Remove the ECU

   Locate the Engine Controller on the engine block or firewall. Carefully release the locking levers on the wiring harness connectors and unplug them. Unbolt the ECU from its mounting bracket.

   Install the New ECU

   Mount the replacement Engine Controller and secure the bolts. Reconnect the wiring harness, ensuring the locking levers are fully seated.

   Restore Power

   Reconnect the negative battery cable.

   Programming and Calibration

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST). Flash the controller with the correct software for your specific machine and engine.

   Restore Parameters

   Follow the service tool prompts to execute the 'Procedure To Restore Self Learning Parameters'. This calibrates the new ECU to the engine's injectors and sensors.

   Final Verification

   Run the engine and verify that fault code 3024 does not return.
