Case IH 3030 – Engine Electronic Control Unit (ECU) / module A-095: Oil pressure sensor voltage is lower than expected

The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) detects a voltage of less than 200 mV for a period greater than 500 milliseconds in the oil pressure sensor signal circuit. This condition typically indicates a short circuit to ground in the sensor wiring or an internal hardware failure of the sensor itself.

   Check the instrumentation display to see if any other error codes are present (such as 3031 Hardware Error or 3028 Oil Pressure Too Low).

   Verify that the tractor's battery power supply has not been connected to an external power supply. If an external power supply is connected, disconnect it and test the system for normal operation.

   Visually inspect the relevant wiring harnesses and connectors (specifically between sensor B-014 and ECU A-095) for damage, bent or dislocated pins, corroded terminals, or broken wires.

   Verify that all connectors are fully seated and installed.

   Flex the involved harnesses while monitoring the system to reveal any intermittent wiring shorts.

   Check the ECU (A-095) to ensure it has the appropriate software and re-flash it if necessary.

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery to ensure safety.

   Locate the Engine Oil Pressure Sensor (Component B-014) on the engine block.

   Disconnect the sensor's wiring harness connector.

   Using a multimeter, test the sensor's signal circuit wiring back to the ECU for continuity and ensure it is not shorted to ground (which would cause the <200 mV reading).

   If the wiring harness is damaged or shorted, repair or replace the affected section of the harness.

   If the wiring tests good, the fault is an internal failure of the B-014 oil pressure sensor. Remove the faulty sensor and install a new OEM replacement.

   Reconnect the sensor harness and the machine's battery.

   Start the engine, verify that the oil pressure reads correctly, and confirm that the fault code 3030 (DTC 29D3) has been resolved and cleared from the ECU.
