Case IH 3030 – Transmission Controller (TRANS): Invalid Tractor Model Configured in the Instrumentation Controller

The transmission controller has detected that an invalid tractor model is configured. The transmission controller receives the tractor model configuration data from the instrumentation controller via the Tractor Data Bus (CAN bus). When the broadcasted model data does not match the transmission controller's expected parameters or is unrecognized, this code is triggered.

   Retrieve all fault codes and check if fault code INST 10032 has occurred in the instrumentation controller

   Check the current tractor model configuration programmed into the instrumentation controller

   Check that the correct and compatible software versions are installed on both the instrumentation controller and the transmission controller

   Resolve Preceding Codes

   If fault code INST 10032 is present, you MUST troubleshoot and correct that fault code first before addressing TRANS 3030.

   Reconfigure Tractor Model

   Access the instrumentation controller setup/programming menu using the tractor's display or the electronic service tool (EST). Verify and input the correct tractor model configuration.

   Flash/Update Software

   If the configuration is correct but the code persists, re-flash or update the software on both the instrumentation and transmission controllers to ensure they are on matching, up-to-date versions.

   Clear Codes

   Clear the fault codes from the transmission controller's memory.

   Recalibrate (If Necessary)

   If a controller was replaced or completely re-flashed, perform a Transmission Controller Calibration. Ensure the tractor is safely parked, retrieve and clear any remaining codes, and follow the Trans Setup Menu calibration steps.
