Case IH 3112 (F-157-11) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU A-095): Fuel rail pressure sensor voltage is higher than expected.

The Engine Control Unit has detected a voltage signal from the fuel rail pressure sensor that exceeds the normal operating parameters, typically indicating an open circuit, a short to a high voltage source, or an internal failure of the sensor itself.

   Verify if the fault code is currently active. If active, proceed to circuit testing.

   Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

   Locate the fuel rail pressure sensor (designated as component B-015).

   Disconnect the sensor connector (designated as X-830).

   Disconnect the engine harness connector (designated as X-917) from the Engine ECU (A-095).

   Check the rail pressure sensor B-015 signal circuit for an open circuit condition or a short to a voltage source using a multimeter.

   Power Down

   Ensure the machine is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition.

   Inspect Wiring

   Carefully inspect the wiring harness between connector X-830 and X-917 for chafing, pinched wires, or corrosion at the pins.

   Test the Circuit

   Pin out the signal wire from the sensor connector to the ECU connector. If there is infinite resistance (open circuit) or continuity to a power source, repair or replace the damaged section of the engine wiring harness.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the wiring harness tests perfectly fine, the fault is caused by an internal failure of the fuel rail pressure sensor (B-015). Remove the faulty sensor from the fuel rail and install the new OEM replacement.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect all harnesses, turn the ignition on, and use the diagnostic menu or a service tool to clear the inactive fault code. Run the engine to verify the code does not return.
