Case IH 3118 (DTC E82D) - ECU – ECU A-095: Internal 12V supply voltage is too high

The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) continuously monitors its internal 12-volt sensor supply voltage. If the ECU determines that this voltage value is higher than the expected upper limit, it triggers this fault code. This is also linked to a defective ambient pressure sensor located inside the ECU.

   Verify if any other error codes are displayed alongside 3118. If no other codes are present, proceed to the next step.

   Ensure that the tractor's battery power supply has not been connected to an external power supply (such as a jump box or high-output battery charger). If connected, disconnect it immediately and test for normal operation.

   Verify that the machine's base battery voltage is within normal operating specifications.

   Software Verification

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) and check the ECU A-095 for the appropriate software version.

   Re-flash ECU

   Re-flash the ECU A-095 with the latest software, if necessary.

   Test Operation

   Cycle the power and check if the fault has been resolved. If it has, return the machine to service.

   Replace ECU

   If the software re-flash does not clear the code, the internal circuitry of the ECU (often the internal ambient pressure sensor or 12V sensor supply circuit) is defective. You must remove and replace the Engine Control Unit.
