Case IH 3200 – Engine Control Unit (ECU A-095): Open load error of injector in cylinder 4

The Engine Control Unit (ECU) has detected an open circuit or hardware error pattern in the power stage or wiring of the fuel injector for cylinder 4.

   Verify that the machine's battery power supply has not been connected to an external power supply (like a jump starter). If it has, disconnect it and test the system for normal operation.

   Remove the injector (valve) cover to access the injectors.

   Disconnect the injector harness from the cylinder 4 injector (connector Y-064).

   Use a multimeter to check for continuity from Y-064 pin 1 on the injector to the chassis ground.

   If there is continuity (failed solenoid coil cause): The cylinder 4 injector solenoid coil has failed and the injector must be replaced.

   If there is no continuity (wiring issue cause): Inspect the cylinder 4 injector circuit between the ECU and the injector harness for a short to ground or open circuit.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the machine's battery power to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove cover

   Remove the engine valve/injector cover to gain access to the fuel injectors.

   Disconnect harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector (Y-064) from the cylinder 4 fuel injector.

   Remove fuel lines

   Remove the high-pressure fuel lines connected to the cylinder 4 injector.

   Remove injector

   Remove the faulty injector from the cylinder head.

   Install new injector

   Install the new OEM replacement fuel injector, ensuring all O-rings and seals are properly seated.

   Reconnect fuel lines

   Reconnect the high-pressure fuel lines and torque to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness to the new injector.

   Reinstall cover

   Reinstall the valve cover (use a new valve cover gasket if necessary).

    Verify repair

    Reconnect the battery, prime the fuel system, and use an Electronic Service Tool (EST) to clear the fault codes and verify the repair.
