Case IH 3204 – ECU A-095: Open load error of injector in cylinder 5

The system has detected an open electrical circuit (infinite resistance or a broken connection) during the evaluation of the cylinder 5 fuel injector.

   Verify that the tractor's battery power supply has not been connected to an external power supply (such as a jump-starter or external charger). Disconnect if present and retest.

   Inspect the wiring harness between ECU A-095 and the cylinder 5 injector for breaks, chafing, or shorts.

   Check for loose, damaged, or corroded electrical connectors at the injector and the ECU.

   Test the resistance of the cylinder 5 injector coil to determine if the open circuit is internal to the injector or isolated to the wiring harness.

   Locate the cylinder 5 fuel injector on the engine block.

   Disconnect the electrical connector from the injector and inspect the pins.

   Using a multimeter, check the continuity of the wiring harness from the injector connector back to the ECU. If a break is found, repair or replace the wiring harness.

   Remove the high-pressure fuel line connected to the cylinder 5 injector.

   Remove the injector hold-down clamp and extract the faulty injector.

    Reinstall the hold-down clamp and reconnect the high-pressure fuel line, torquing to OEM specifications.

    Clear the active fault codes using a diagnostic tool and run the engine to verify the repair and check for fuel leaks. If the fault persists and the wiring/injector are good, the ECU A-095 power stage may be damaged and require replacement.
