Case IH 3233 (DTC E336) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / ECM (A-095 ECU): ECU internal failure - Internal SPI injector related timeout error.

The SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) bus communication is monitored by the system once per every camshaft revolution. If the control unit detects a timeout error in the SPI bus communication, this fault is logged. The primary failure modes are a software glitch or a physical hardware failure within the control unit itself.

   Verify if any other error codes are displayed. If no other error code is present, proceed to the next step.

   Verify that the tractor/machine battery power supply has not been connected to an external power supply (such as a jump box or external charger).

   If an external power supply is connected, disconnect it immediately and test the system for normal operation to rule out false internal SPI timeout errors caused by voltage irregularities.

   Use the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to check the status of the fault. If the fault is inactive, it may have been an intermittent voltage issue.

   Software Reflash

   Attempt to reinstall or update the software on the A-095 ECU using the Electronic Service Tool (EST).

   ECU Replacement

   If the A-095 ECU software cannot be reinstalled, or if the fault code immediately returns after a successful reflash, the hardware within the ECU has failed. You must remove and replace the Engine Control Unit.
