Case IH 3237 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) A-095: Number of desired injections exceeds threshold

This fault code indicates a mismatch between the engine's requested fuel injections and the physical capability of the fuel injection system. It is generally caused by a software limitation, an internal ECU calculation error, or improper voltage/power supply to the ECU.

   Connect the Electronic Service Tool (EST) to verify if the fault code is currently active or just a stored historical code.

   Check the tractor's battery power supply, specifically noting if the machine has been connected to an external power supply (such as a jump box or external charger) which can cause voltage irregularities.

   Use the EST to check the current software version installed on ECU A-095 to see if an update is available that addresses injection limitation logic.

   Disconnect External Power

   If an external power supply is currently connected to the tractor, disconnect it immediately. Restart the machine and test the system for normal operation to see if the fault clears.

   Reflash / Update Software

   If the battery voltage is normal and no external power supply is connected, the issue is likely a software fault within the ECU A-095. Use the EST to download and flash the correct, most up-to-date level of software to the Engine ECU.

   ECU Replacement

   If the software update does not resolve the issue, or if the EST is unable to communicate with or reinstall software on ECU A-095, the ECU has suffered an internal failure. You must remove and replace the Engine Control Unit.
