Case IH 3252 – Engine Controller: Engine Controller (Internal Communication Error) / Controller Watchdog - SPI Communication Failure

   Determine if the error is temporary: if injection reoccurs and normal operation resumes, the error can be safely ignored.

   Monitor for persistence: Clear the code and operate the machine. If the fault persists and injection is halted, it confirms a hard failure of the Engine Controller's internal watchdog/SPI communication.

   Clear the fault code using the diagnostic service tool and test the machine.

   If the error was temporary, no further repair is needed.

   If the fault persists, the Engine Controller (EDC/ECM) cannot be repaired in the field and must be replaced.

   Install the new or remanufactured Engine Controller.

   After the EDC is replaced, you MUST follow the appropriate Service Tool procedure (using the Case IH Electronic Service Tool / EST) to restore the engine's self-learning parameters.
