Case IH 3277 – Engine Control Module (ECM / EDC): Timeout of CAN Message Dashboard Display

This indicates a communication failure on the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. Specifically, the Engine Control Module (ECM) is not receiving the expected data messages from the Dashboard Display (Instrument Cluster) within the required timeframe, or the connection has been lost entirely.

   CAN Bus Resistance Test: With the batteries disconnected, measure the resistance across the CAN bus pins at the diagnostic connector. A healthy CAN bus should read approximately 60 ohms.

   Wiring Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness between the Engine ECM and the cab/dashboard for chafed wires, open circuits, or short circuits to ground or battery power.
