Case IH 3295 – Engine ECU: Cylinder 2 Specific Errors - No Signal
Issue description
This fault code indicates that the engine control module is not detecting an electrical signal (an open circuit) from the fuel injector solenoid on cylinder #2.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness between the Engine ECU (EDC7) and the Cylinder 2 fuel injector for chafing, breaks, or heat damage.
Check the injector connector and the main ECU connector (Connector A / 89-pin connector) for loose, bent, pushed-back, or corroded pins.
Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the pins of the Cylinder 2 injector solenoid. If the reading shows an open circuit (infinite resistance/OL), the injector has failed internally.
Disconnect the harness at both the ECU and the injector. Test for continuity on the signal and return wires. If there is no continuity, the harness is broken.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Turn off the ignition key and disconnect the machine's battery to prevent electrical spikes.
Disconnect wiring harness
Disconnect the wiring harness from the Cylinder 2 fuel injector and the Engine ECU.
Replace fuel injector
Based on your diagnostic checks, if the injector solenoid tested open, remove the valve cover (if applicable to the specific engine tier) and fuel lines to access and replace the Cylinder 2 fuel injector.
Repair or replace wiring harness
If the injector tested fine but the harness failed the continuity test, repair the broken wire or replace the injector wiring harness.
Replace ECU connector
If the ECU connector itself is damaged (e.g., broken locking tab or severe corrosion), splice in a replacement Bosch EDC7 connector pigtail.
Reconnect components
Reconnect all harnesses, fuel lines, and the battery.
Clear codes and verify repair
Connect a diagnostic tool (like CNH EST) to clear the fault codes, then run the engine to verify the repair and ensure no fuel leaks are present.
