Case IH 3307 – Engine Controller (Engine ECU / EDC): Cylinder 5 Specific Errors - No Signal

This code indicates an open circuit or a complete loss of communication/signal to the fuel injector on Cylinder 5. The system is not detecting the electrical presence of the injector solenoid.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the Engine ECU to the Cylinder 5 fuel injector for chafed wires, rodent damage, or breaks.

   Disconnect the plug at the Cylinder 5 injector and check for loose, backed-out, or corroded pins. Ensure the connector is fully seated and latched.

   Measure the resistance across the pins of the Cylinder 5 injector solenoid. An open circuit (infinite resistance) indicates the injector has failed internally.

   If the injector tests good, check the continuity of the signal and ground wires from the injector connector back to the Engine ECU pins.

   Inspect the Engine ECU connector for water intrusion, corrosion, or bent pins.

   Disconnect Power

   Turn off the machine and disconnect the battery ground cable before servicing the fuel system or ECU wiring.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire or damaged connector, repair the harness or splice in a new pigtail connector.

   Replace Injector

   If the injector solenoid is internally open: Clean the area around the Cylinder 5 injector thoroughly to prevent debris from entering the engine. Remove the high-pressure fuel line to Cylinder 5. Remove the injector hold-down clamp and extract the faulty injector. Install the new injector with a new copper sealing washer and O-rings. Reinstall the hold-down clamp and torque to OEM specifications. Install the high-pressure fuel line.

   Reassemble and Bleed

   Reconnect the electrical harness and battery. Prime the fuel system if necessary.

   Clear Codes

   Connect a diagnostic tool (such as CNH EST) to clear the 3307 fault code from the Engine ECU.

   Test Run

   Start the engine and verify that it runs smoothly without misfires and that the code does not return.
