Issue description
Depending on the engine architecture, this code indicates either a mismatch between requested engine torque and calculated fuel quantity (FPT/CNH engines) or that the DEF dosing unit is unable to prime or deliver DEF to the dosing valve (Cummins engines).

Check the cause
For FPT/CNH engines: Check for accompanying fault codes related to the Atmospheric Pressure Sensor (e.g., 3363), Foot Pedal sensors (e.g., 3364, 3365), or fuel rail pressure.
For FPT/CNH engines: Test fuel system integrity. Verify that the vacuum between the inlet of the fuel lift pump and the tank does not exceed 2 inches of Hg, and check fuel supply pressures.
For FPT/CNH engines: Check the ECM for software bugs or outdated calibrations that might cause mapping errors.
For Cummins engines: Verify the DEF tank is full and the fluid is not contaminated or frozen.
For Cummins engines: Visually inspect the three DEF lines (between the tank, dosing unit, and dosing valve) for cracks, leaks, blockages, or reversed connections.
For Cummins engines: Disconnect the DEF dosing valve (injector) and check the internal resistance using a multimeter. A healthy valve should read between 11 and 18 ohms.
