3362 (DTC E1FD) - ECU

Case IH 3362 (DTC E1FD) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU A-095): ECU internal failure - Fuel calibration

Issue description

The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) monitors the conversion from fuel quantity to torque for consistency during its initialization phase. It compares the requested number of fuel injections against the actual capability of the fuel injection system. If a calibration error is detected during this test (e.g., the number of requested injections exceeds the actual injections by a specific threshold, or the torque map is implausible), this fault code is triggered.

Applies to these machines

  • MAXXUM T4E
  • 240 Series Axial-Flow Combines (7240, 8240, 9240)
  • Magnum Series (235-340 Series 4, 180-380)
  • Steiger Series
  • Puma Series
  • Austoft A8000
  • Austoft A8800
  • Austoft A8810

Check the cause

  1. Connect the dealer Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port

  2. Verify if the fault is currently present and active. If the fault is inactive, it may be an intermittent software glitch

  3. Check the ECU A-095 to see if it is running the most up-to-date software version

Repair steps

  1. Re-flash the ECU

Using the EST, update or re-flash the ECU A-095 with the appropriate and latest software.

  2. Verify Repair

Cycle the machine's power and re-initialize the system. If the fault has been resolved and does not return during initialization, return the machine to service.

  3. Replace the ECU

If the ECU A-095 cannot be successfully re-flashed, or if the fault code remains active after a software update, the internal failure is fatal. You must remove and replace the ECU A-095.
