Case IH 3362 – Engine Electronic Control Unit (ECU A-095): ECU internal failure - Fuel calibration

The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) monitors the conversion from fuel quantity to torque for consistency during its initialization phase. If a calibration error or mathematical inconsistency is detected during this internal self-test, the ECU logs this fault.

   Check the ECU A-095 to see if it is running the most current, appropriate software version.

   Visually inspect the harnesses and connectors leading to the ECU for damaged, bent, or pushed-back pins, corroded terminals, or chafed wires. Ensure the main ECU connectors are fully seated and locked.

   Ensure the machine's battery voltage is stable and within normal operating range, as low voltage during key-on initialization can trigger internal module faults.

   Re-flash the ECU

   Connect the dealer service tool (e.g., CNH EST) and check the current software version on ECU A-095. Re-flash/update the ECU with the appropriate software.

   Cycle Power

   After the re-flash is complete, cycle the key to allow the ECU to perform a new initialization sequence.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear the fault codes and operate the machine. If the fault code 3362 (DTC E1FD) does not return, the issue was a software glitch and the machine can be returned to service.

   Replace the ECU

   If the software re-flash does not resolve the fault, or if the ECU refuses to take the flash, the module has suffered a hard internal hardware failure. You must remove and replace the Engine ECU, then program the new module to the machine.
