Case IH 3363 – Engine Control Unit (ECU / ECM): Atmospheric Pressure Sensor - Processed via ADC (no CAN Plausibility Performed)

The engine control module is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or implausible signal from the atmospheric (ambient barometric) pressure sensor, and the analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) process failed its plausibility checks.

   Check the wiring harness and connectors associated with the engine control unit for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.

   Check the atmospheric pressure sensor signal to see if it is reading above the maximum range or below the minimum range.

   Determine your operating altitude, as the ambient pressure sensor is located inside the ECU.

   Inspect wiring

   Inspect all wiring and connections leading to the Engine ECU.

   Test sensor signal

   Test the atmospheric pressure sensor signal.

   Diagnose ECU

   If the wiring is intact but the signal remains implausible, the internal ambient pressure sensor inside the ECU is defective.

   Replace ECU

   Replace the Engine ECU. Note: Replacing the ECU is not necessary if never running in high altitude. However, if the machine operates at high altitude conditions, you must replace the ECU to resolve the fault and restore proper engine performance.

   Program ECU

   If the ECU is replaced, dealer software installation and programming will be required.
