Case IH 3364 – Engine Controller (ENG / Engine ECU): Foot Pedal 2 - Signal Too High

The voltage signal returning from the secondary potentiometer (Foot Pedal 2) is exceeding the normal operating range (typically shorted to power or suffering an internal failure).

   Inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the electronic foot pedal for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins.

   Using a multimeter, check the wiring harness between the foot pedal and the Engine ECU for a short to power on the Foot Pedal 2 signal wire.

   Verify that the pedal is receiving the correct 5V reference and ground from the ECU.

   Check if accompanying codes are present, such as Code 3366 (Foot Pedal 2 - Signal Not Plausible Compared to Foot Pedal 1), which indicates the internal sensors are out of sync.

   Turn off the machine, remove the key, and disconnect the battery

   This prevents electrical spikes.

   Locate the electronic foot throttle pedal in the cab.

   Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the pedal assembly.

   Unbolt the pedal assembly from the cab floor/firewall mounting points.

   Install the new genuine CNH electronic foot pedal and secure the mounting bolts.

   Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Reconnect the battery and turn the ignition on.

   Clear the stored fault codes from the Engine ECU

   Use a diagnostic tool or the cab monitor.

   Test the throttle pedal through its full range of motion

   Ensure the engine responds correctly and the code does not return.
