Case IH 3368 (DTC F6EF) - ECU – Engine Control Unit (ECU): Torque limitation caused by performance limiter

This is an informational code indicating that the engine control module has actively derated the engine (reduced power or speed) because the machine's NOx emissions were too high for longer than 60 seconds.

   Check for other active codes related to the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) or DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) systems using the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST)

   Inspect DEF quality and level to ensure the tank is full and fluid is not contaminated or degraded

   Check upstream and downstream NOx sensors for erratic data or out-of-range voltage codes

   Verify DEF dosing by checking that the DEF injector/dosing module is building adequate pressure (typically around 130 psi / 9 bar) and is not clogged

   Address the Root Cause

   Diagnose and repair the primary emissions failure (e.g., replace a faulty NOx sensor, replace a clogged DEF injector, or drain and refill contaminated DEF fluid).

   Perform a Fluid Quality / System Test

   Run the machine under load or use the diagnostic tool to perform a reductant fluid quality test to verify that NOx emissions have returned to normal legal limits.

   Reset the Inducement System

   Once the root cause is fixed, the engine will remain locked in derate mode until the inducement timer is reset. Using the CNH EST (dealer service tool), navigate to the engine diagnostic screens and perform an 'Engine Restart Counter Reset' or 'Inducement Reset'.

   Clear Codes

   Clear the 3368 (F6EF) code and any accompanying emissions codes. Cycle the key to ensure the codes do not return and full power is restored.
