Case IH 3371 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EDC (Electronic Diesel Control): Info: Torque Limitation due to Fuel Quantity Limitation because of Injection System Errors.

This is a secondary, informational fault code indicating that the engine control module has intentionally placed the engine into a derated state (limiting torque and power). The derate occurs either to protect the engine from damage or because a primary physical failure in the fuel injection system is preventing the system from delivering the requested fuel volume.

   Scan for primary codes using a CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to find the root cause (e.g., rail pressure deviations, fuel metering unit faults, or injector failures).

   Inspect the low-pressure fuel system and check the fuel water separator for water or heavy contamination.

   Verify the condition of the primary and secondary fuel filters for severe restrictions.

   Monitor live data for the common rail pressure sensor and the fuel metering unit (M-PROP) to ensure they are operating within specified parameters.

   Diagnose the Root Cause

   Identify the primary injection system fault code that triggered the 3371 derate. The repair must target this primary code.

   If no obvious electrical or sensor codes are present, drain the fuel water separator and replace both the primary and secondary fuel filters to rule out fuel starvation.
