Case IH 3372 – Engine Controller: Injection Quantity Adjustment failure - Invalid Adjustment Value

The Engine Control Module (ECM) has an invalid or missing Injection Quantity Adjustment (IQA) value programmed into its memory. This occurs if an injector is replaced without programming the new code, or if the ECM loses its memory/calibration data.

   Connect the CNH Electronic Service Tool (EST) to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Access the Engine Controller and read the currently programmed IQA (trim) codes for all cylinders.

   Remove the engine valve cover (if necessary on your specific engine model) or inspect the exposed injector heads to locate the physical alphanumeric IQA code printed on the top of each fuel injector.

   Compare the physical codes on the injectors to the codes programmed in the EST to identify which cylinder has a missing, default, or invalid value.

   Determine if an injector was recently replaced without the corresponding software calibration, or if the ECM was recently flashed/replaced (which can sometimes wipe the EEPROM adjustment values, often accompanied by related codes 3373 or 3374).

   Write down the correct alphanumeric IQA code

   printed on the top of the affected fuel injector(s), noting exactly which cylinder number it corresponds to.

   Connect the CNH EST to the diagnostic port

   and turn the key to the ON position (engine off).

   Navigate to the Engine Controller

   -> Programming / Configuration -> Injector Calibration / IQA.

   Select the cylinder

   that is throwing the invalid value error.

   Enter the correct alphanumeric IQA code

   exactly as it appears on the injector.

   Save the configuration/calibration

   to the Engine ECU.

   Perform a key cycle

   Turn the key OFF, wait at least 30 seconds for the ECM to power down and save the EEPROM data, then turn the key back ON.

   Clear the inactive fault codes

   using the EST.

   Start the engine

   and verify that fault code 3372 does not return.
