Case IH 3428 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / EDC (Electronic Diesel Control): Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Pressure sensor: Not Plausibility Error
Issue description
The differential pressure reading coming from the DPF pressure sensor is illogical or out of the expected range for the current engine operating conditions. This is typically caused by a physical failure in the sensor's measurement lines (such as a leak or blockage) or a failure of the sensor itself.

Check the cause
Inspect the differential pressure hoses connecting the DPF to the pressure sensor for cracks, melting, blockages, or disconnections.
Inspect the sensor's electrical connector and wiring harness for corrosion, damage, or short circuits.
Ensure there are no exhaust leaks around the DPF housing that could skew the pressure differential readings.
Repair steps
Locate sensor
Locate the DPF Differential Pressure Sensor (usually mounted near the DPF assembly on the exhaust system).
Disconnect harness
Carefully disconnect the electrical harness from the sensor.
Disconnect hoses
Remove the hose clamps and disconnect the pressure hoses from the sensor. (If the hoses are brittle or damaged, replace them simultaneously).
Remove sensor
Unbolt and remove the faulty sensor.
Install new sensor
Install the new DPF Differential Pressure Sensor and reconnect the hoses and electrical harness.
Reset parameters
Connect a diagnostic service tool (such as the Case IH Electronic Service Tool) to the machine and reset the self-learning parameters for the DPF sensor. The ECU must learn the baseline voltage of the new sensor for it to function properly.
Verify repair
Clear the fault codes and run the engine to verify the repair.
