Case IH 3492 – Engine ECU (Engine Control Module): Missing adjustment value programming for injector in cylinder 4

The engine control module has lost, or was never programmed with, the specific calibration data (IQA or trim codes) for the fuel injector installed in cylinder number 4.

   Determine if the Engine ECU was recently flashed, updated, or replaced, which may have wiped the injector memory.

   Check if the fuel injector in cylinder 4 was recently replaced by a technician who forgot to program the new injector's trim code into the ECU.

   Inspect the top of the cylinder 4 injector to ensure the alphanumeric calibration code is still legible, as you will need it for reprogramming.

   Locate cylinder 4

   Locate cylinder 4 on the engine block.

   Record calibration code

   Read and write down the alphanumeric adjustment/calibration code (IQA code) printed directly on the top or side of the fuel injector.

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the Case IH Electronic Service Tool (EST) laptop to the machine's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to programming menu

   Navigate to the Engine ECU programming/calibration menu.

   Input trim code

   Select the injector programming function and input the specific trim code you wrote down for cylinder 4.

   Save configuration

   Save the configuration to the Engine ECU.

   Verify repair

   Clear the inactive fault codes, cycle the ignition key, and run the engine to verify DTC 3492 (F276) does not return.
